Greetings Brethren and Friends!
WB JONATHAN DENVER C. CUEZON Welcome to the Official website of Jacques DeMolay Memorial Lodge No.305 F.& A.M., a Masonic Lodge under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines and a member of Masonic District NCR-A.
For my JDML 305 Brethren, our attempt at bringing our lodge to cyberspace is part of our efforts to centralize and manage our knowledge and information system. We envision our home in cyberspace to serve as our on-line office. It will provide a bulletin board of JDML 305's past and incoming events and activities. It will also provide a section for members to access and view pertinent Lodge files in an exclusive for members only area. Through our site, any member withersoever dispersed can now access and peruse Lodge files and other documents.
To all friends and visitors, enjoy your visit and we hope that our site will give you an insight about us Freemasons and what we do. We are often asked, "What do you Freemasons do?," as if there's something extraordinary about what we do. The answer to this is quite simple, we do the same things like what any ordinary organization does. The only difference perhaps is our ancient customs and rituals. After all Freemasonry is simply a Fraternity--an organization of men, banded together to further develop themselves ethically and morally, and to give to the community at large without expecting anything in return. Our site is still new, hence most of its features still need to be developed and enhanced. We would encourage you to regularly visit us for new updates. Also, we would be glad to hear your feedback, just send your comments and suggestions to the webmaster or leave us a message at our website's guestbook.
Lastly, this website yields allegiance to the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines whose See is at the New Plaridel Masonic Temple, 1440 San Marcelino Street, Ermita, Manila
Fraternally,
WB JONATHAN DENVER C. CUEZON Worshipful Master |

A Night With The Grand Master |
|
There is a unique ritual done in every DeMolay fellowship on occasions where a toast to a "Brother of the Hour," is made. This is known to all DeMolays as the Jug-a-log ceremony. Taking cue from the brethren singing the Jug-a-log song, the "Brother of the hour" has to drink beer, in a straight-bottoms-up swig. By virtue of its fraternal roots, this distinct practice has been adopted by the Jacques DeMolay Memorial Lodge No.305 and is applied to all members of the Lodge, DeMolays and non-DeMolays alike.
Last night, May 14, the Jacques DeMolay Memorial Lodge No.305 made history by having the first ever Grand Jug-a-log - performed by no less than The Grand Master of Masons of the Philippines.
Most Worshipful Pacifico B. Aniag, or as fondly called by many as MW Kuya Boy, gathered the JDML 305 Brethren to a fellowship in order for him to personally thank the Lodge for the support and assistance it provided him before and during the ANCOM 2008. MW Aniag is a Charter and Dual Member of Jacques DeMolay Memorial Lodge 305 - the only other Lodge where the Grand Master holds an active dual membership.
The fellowship was held at Gilligans Bar and Restaurant in Malate. According to MW Aniag, Gilligans is a memorable place because it was there, together with the Brethren of JDML 305, that he was prodded by the Brethren to run for the position of Junior Grand Warden. He finds it fitting that his thanksgiving to JDML 305 be held on the same place.
It was a simple fellowship night, no formal program, no long introductions, etc... yet it was filled with lively interaction among the Brethren. Aside from the active members of JDML 305 present, also in attendance were: VW Cris Fernandez, and the Past Masters of JDML 305, VW Joji Bulawin, current DDGM of NCR-A, VW Jojo Javier, VW Francis Lovero, VW Joby Magbanua and WI Manny Valloso.
JDML 305's Worshipful Master, Jonathan D.C. Cuezon made a short speech, thanking the Grand Master for his fraternal affinity to JDML 305. Afterwards, he proposed a toast to the Grand Master. In response, MW Kuya Boy made a brief yet inspirational speech. He thanked the Brethren of the Lodge and expressed gratitude to all DeMolays. Kuya Boy underscored a personal testimony that the Best Years of his life is with the Order of DeMolay, being himself a proud Past Master Councilor of Loyalty Chapter.
The DeMolay-ness of the fellowship prompted the brethren to call for a jug-a-log in honor of the Grand Master of Masons of the Philippines, and MW Kuya Boy, a DeMolay that he is, readily acceded and gamely accepted the challenge. "...drink to the Grand Master for he's so good, jug-a-log..."
That night with the Grand Master, made everyone of us proud...JDML 305, truly DeMolay's Pride!

JDML 305's First Degree Conferral |
Yesterday, May 10, 2008, Jacques DeMolay Memorial Lodge 305, conferred the first degree of Masonry upon two Senior DeMolays, Bro. Ramon Adrian B. Bernal and Bro. Ferdinand John M. Gaerlan. Both are Past Master Councilors (PMC) of their respective DeMolay Chapters. Bro. Ramon "Berns" Bernal is a PMC of Bicol Chapter, Order of DeMolay and Bro. Ferdie Gaerlan, a PMC and a Blue Honor Key (BHK) awardee, of University Chapter, Order of DeMolay in MSU, Marawi City.
Bro. Cris M. Gaerlan, incumbent Secretary of the Lodge, a PMC himself and younger brother of Bro. Ferdie Gaerlan, acted as the Conferral Worshipful Master. Yesterday's initiation follows yet another seemingly emerging JDML 305 tradition - that of having a candidate initiated into the craft by his own blood brother or kin. The precedence was set when the current Junior Warden of the Lodge, Bro. Ariel Gumabon, acted as the Conferral Worshipful Master when his younger brother, Bro. Neil Gumabon, was initiated as Entered Apprentice Mason. Hopefully there will be more conferrals of this kind in the future.
Worshipful Master, Jonathan D.C. Cuezon, congratulated the Brethren for a job well done and also thanked VW Gigi Ancajas, who served as ritual director for this particular conferral. After the conferral, a fraternal fellowship followed at the usual JDML 305's rendezvous at the Mariner's Hotel.
The newly obligated Brethren, EAM's Ramon Bernal and Ferdie Gaerlan were made aware of the JDML 305 tradition on proficiency. They are required to commit to memory not only the catechism and obligation of the first degree but also its full lecture, including the lectures on the lambskin apron and the working tools, before passing to the Fellow Craft degree.
Congratulations, Bro. Berns and Bro. Ferdie, and Good Luck on your journey! |
